Enda Kenny’s Head (2016)

For this project, the research focused on street traders who had been operating on the Thomas Street area of Dublin for generations. The work considered Enda Kenny's motto of 'Let's keep the recovery going' and what effect, if any, this recovery was having on the day to day lives of people trading in the area. I bought 40 rolls of toilet paper off the traders for €10 and cast a bust of Enda Kenny from them.

The bust took 7 weeks to set with uncertainty about how it would turn out. This happened to coincide with the 7 weeks of 2016 during which it was unclear as to what was going to happen to the real Enda Kenny, whether he was going to stay or be forced out of office. Both came out well at the end of it.

I tried to trade the bust online for anything other than money. The hope was to see what people would offer for it and make a trade. I would then make something else out of whatever objects or materials I had traded it for. The plan was to then trade this on in return. The add was shared on social media but I received very few real offers

I am still open to offers.
